Before arriving at our facility for your animal's appointment, please familiarize yourself with the important information below.
For the safety of our staff and other clientele, please familiarize yourself with our COVID-19 protocols regarding our intake and discharge as they have changed extensively. During this time, we will be allowing a limited number of clients to enter the building at one time. A cloth face mask will be required during all interactions - NO EXCEPTIONS - and must be worn appropriately. If you do not have a cloth face mask, one will be supplied at an additional cost of $3.00. If you do not adhere to our requirements, you will be refused service.
Adult animals must have food withdrawn by 12 P.M. (midnight) the night before surgery . Animals six months of age or younger may have food until 6 A.M. the morning of surgery. All animals can have water up until they arrive at our facility.
Pre-Surgical Blood Work
All animals can have pre-surgical blood work performed prior to surgery. Animals that are 5 years of age or older are REQUIRED to have pre-surgical blood work performed prior to surgery (if the animal is over 5 years of age and pre-surgical bloodwork has not provided the animal will be returned unaltered). This blood work must be performed at a maximum of one (1) week and a minimum of one (1) day prior to surgery. It can be performed by Twin Ports Spay/Neuter for an additional cost of $75.00 or with a full-service veterinary clinic in your area. Results must be brought, faxed (218-623-6719), or emailed (email@example.com) to Twin Ports Spay/Neuter prior to your animal’s appointment.
Keep Your Animal Indoors
Animals must be kept indoors or confined the night before surgery. This ensures that no traumatic events or ingestion of unknown materials have occurred, which could potentially be dangerous during surgery.
Animals must arrive at the clinic between 8:00-8:30 A.M. for check-in. Due to our strict schedule, you will either be assessed a late fee or your pet will not be admitted if you arrive after 8:30 A.M. – if this occurs you will have to reschedule your appointment and the $50.00 appointment deposit will be non-transferable/non-refundable.
Upon arrival please park in the US Bank Parking Lot across 20th Ave W and walk to the front door to form a socially distanced line. We ask that you please leave your animal in the vehicle until the check-in process has been completed. A staff member will allow five clients in the lobby at one time. The staff member will confirm you appointment and provide an admission form if you have not already printed one off prior to your appointment. Please fill the admission form out completely in blue or black ink and mark any additional services you would like us to perform at the time of the procedure. If you do not you mark a service you would like performed, it will not be performed as we do not have authorization. Upon your departure, you will be provided with a copy of our post-operative care/instructions if needed (also provided in the reminder emails you recieve). Please read through this and note any questions/comments/concerns you may want to discuss with a Twin Ports Spay/Neuter representative prior to the discharge process.
Dogs should be allowed to urinate/defecate prior to entry to the clinic and must be on leash. Please remove all clothing prior to admission in the building. You may remove your leash from your pet prior to your departure from the clinic - Twin Ports Spay/Neuter will provide and slip lead while in the building.
All cats must arrive in a clean kennel that can be securely fastened - we recommend placing one cat per kennel. If the cat arrives without a kennel or a kennel that is not able to be securely fastened, we will provide a cardboard carrier for an additional $6.00. If the cat arrives in a kennel that is not adequately clean, additional fees may be applied. Please remove all leashes and/or collar from your pet(s) prior to admission into the building.
Minnesota state law requires a current rabies vaccination for your pet. Please bring proof in the form of a certificate (TAGS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF PROOF). We are otherwise required to administer one at the time of surgery for a charge of $15.00/vaccine.
Method of Payment
Payment is due in full at the time of service. We will be accepting all cash or electronic payment in the form of Visa, Discover, Mastercard, American Express - we will not accept checks or CareCredit.
Dogs will be group discharged the same day as surgery (usually between 12:00-3:30 P.M., however, the specific time will be designated by Twin Ports Spay/Neuter). A Twin Ports Spay/Neuter representative will contact you in the afternoon the day of surgery to finalize payment and designate a discharge time. When you arrive to pick up your pet, please be wearing a face mask prior to entering Twin Ports Spay/Neuter. A representative will go over the general discharge instructions and then discuss your pet's specific exam findings individually.
Cats will be group discharged the day following surgery (10:00A.M. sharp) - please arrive promptly for discharge, if you are not present at the beginning of discharge you will be assessed a late fee. Twin Ports Spay/Neuter will contact you via email the day of surgery - this email will is be in regards to payment but indicates your pet(s) has completed their surgical procedure and is in recovery. Please use the link in the email to finalize payment. When you arrive to pick up your pet, please be wearing a face mask prior to entering Twin Ports Spay/Neuter. If you are not able to pick-up your pet(s), you may either designate another party to pick-up your pet(s) for you or arrangement can be made with Twin Ports Spay/Neuter, however, additional fees may apply.
