Before arriving at our facility for your animal's appointment, please familiarize yourself with the important information below.
For the safety of our staff and other clientele, please familiarize yourself with our COVID-19 protocols regarding our intake and discharge as they have changed extensively. During this time, we will not be allowing clients to enter the building - all intake and discharge will be provided through curbside only. A cloth face mask will be required during all curbside interactions. If you do not have a cloth face mask, one will be supplied at an additional cost of $3.00. If you do not adhere to our requirements, you will be refused service.
Adult animals must have food withdrawn by 12 P.M. (midnight) the night before surgery . Animals six months of age or younger may have food until 6 A.M. the morning of surgery. All animals can have water up until they arrive at our facility.
Pre-Surgical Blood Work
All animals can have pre-surgical blood work performed prior to surgery if you so choose. Animals that are 8 years of age or older are REQUIRED to have pre-surgical blood work performed prior to surgery (if the animal is over 8 years of age and pre-surgical bloodwork has not provided the animal will be returned unaltered unless the Eight (8) Years and Over Bloodwork Waiver/Agreement has been signed). This blood work must be performed at a maximum of one (1) week and a minimum of one (1) day prior to surgery. It can be performed by Twin Ports Spay/Neuter for an additional cost of $60.00 or with a full-service veterinary clinic in your area. Results must be brought or faxed to Twin Ports Spay/Neuter prior to your animal’s appointment.
Keep Your Animal Indoors
Animals must be kept indoors or confined the night before surgery. This ensures that no traumatic events or ingestion of unknown materials have occurred, which could potentially be dangerous during surgery.
Animals must arrive at the clinic between 8:00-9:00 A.M. for curbside check-in. Due to our strict schedule, you will either be assessed a late fee or your pet will not be admitted if you arrive after 9:00 A.M. - – if this occurs you will have to reschedule your appointment and the $50.00 appointment deposit will be non-transferable/non-refundable.
Upon arrival please form a line of vehicles outside the clinic front door. A staff member will provide an admission form if you have not already printed one off prior to your appointment. Please fill the admission form out completely in blue or black ink and mark any additional services you would like us to perform at the time of the procedure. If you do not you mark a service you would like performed, it will not be performed as we do not have authorization. You will be assisted you in the order you arrive. We ask that you please remain in your vehicle at all times - please be patient and we appreciate your understanding during this novel time. Upon your departure, you will be provided with a copy of our post-operative care/instructions (also attached to this email). Please read through this and note any questions/comments/concerns you may want to discuss over the phone with a Twin Ports Spay/Neuter representative prior to the discharge process.
Dogs should be allowed to urinate/defecate prior to transportation to the clinic and must be on leash. Please remove all leashes and/or collars prior to admission into the building – Twin Ports Spay/Neuter will provide and slip lead for admission into the building.
All cats must arrive in a clean kennel that can be securely fastened - we recommend placing one cat per kennel. If the cat arrives without a kennel or a kennel that is not able to be securely fastened, we will provide a cardboard carrier for an additional $6.00. If the cat arrives in a kennel that is not adequately clean, additional cleaning fees may be applied. Please remove all leashes and/or collar from your pet(s) prior to admission into the building.
Minnesota state law requires a current rabies vaccination for your pet. Please bring proof in the form of a certificate (TAGS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF PROOF). We are otherwise required to administer one at the time of surgery for a charge of $10.00/vaccine.
Method of Payment
Payment is due in full at the time of service. We will be accepting all electronic payment in the form of Visa, Discover, Mastercard, American Express - we will not accept cash, checks, or care credit.
Dogs will be discharged the same day as surgery (usually between 2:00-4:00 P.M.). A Twin Ports Spay/Neuter representative will contact you in the afternoon the day of surgery to discuss any physical exam findings, answer any questions, finalize payment, and set up a discharge time. When you arrive to pick up your pet, please call or text 218-591-8045 and a Twin Ports Spay/Neuter representative will bring your pet out to your vehicle.
Cats will be discharged the following day of surgery (usually between 10:00A.M. – 12:00 P.M). A Twin Ports Spay/Neuter representative will contact you in the afternoon the day of surgery to discuss any physical exam findings, answer any questions, and to finalize payment. When you arrive to pick up your pet, please call or text 218-591-8045 and a Twin Ports Spay/Neuter representative will bring your pet out to your vehicle. If you are not able to pick-up your pet(s), you may either designate another party to pick-up your pet(s) for you or arrangement can be made with Twin Ports Spay/Neuter, however, additional fees may apply.
